But with Paul Pogba set to return to Juventus after quitting Manchester United, the Italians are desperate to get rid of Ramsey.

The Serie A giants want his wages off the books and have agreed a severance package with the 31-year-old to do so.

Juventus have agreed to pay Ramsey a whopping £3.5m to rip up his contract this summer, according to IlBianconero.com.

It's claimed the two parties have agreed on the figure after Juve initially wanted to pay £1.7m to let him leave.

Ramsey's current terms are due to expire next year.

The club though are keen to part ways with the midfielder early after 70 appearances in three years.

His time in Turin since joining from Arsenal has been plagued by injuries.

After spending the second half of the recent season on loan at Rangers, Ramsey had recently been close to a reunion with ex-Juve boss Andrea Pirlo at Turkish side Fatih Karagumruk.

But the move broke down and Juventus are now looking to terminate his contract.

Pogba's impending arrival would further limit Ramsey's opportunities at the club.

There had been speculation Ramsey could be set for a return to his boyhood club Cardiff, with the Welsh club at one stage odds-on to reclaim the midfielder.

International colleague Gareth Bale was also linked with a switch to the Bluebirds before he penned a deal with MLS outfit Los Angeles FC.
