Manchester United have some of the finest talent in years coming out of Carrington.

The likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Willy Kambwala have all been recent talents to make the step up to Manchester United’s first-team squad.

And there are so many more to come. Ethan Wheatley, Harry Amass and Jack Fletcher are but a few who are destined to go straight to the top.

But there’s one name that arguably has more potential than the lot – and he’s set to sign his first professional contract with Manchester United.

Shea Lacey set to sign first professional contract

Shea Lacey is the next big thing for Manchester United, and it seems that the Red Devils are wasting no time in making this known.

As per Academy Scoop, the academy starlet is set to sign his first-ever professional contract after turning 17 years old on Sunday.

The report also suggests that a host of top Premier League clubs are interested but the England youth international only sees a future at United.

Lacey is a tremendous talent, with a ridiculously high ceiling.

Sky is the limit for Lacey

This kid is seriously special. At just 16, he was already training with Manchester United’s first-team squad. He also has played at numerous levels above his age grade, which also includes stints for England’s youth sides.

As likened by GiveMeSport, he has similarities to Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, hailing from Liverpool. However, they are in different positions.

Lacey is a right-winger, who is also left-footed. He can also play attacking midfield. He’s drawn comparisons to Manchester City star Phil Foden. They have very similar play styles.

We know Kobbie Mainoo has had a meteoric rise and looks to be an integral player for years to come at Old Trafford – but Lacey could genuinely be better. Watch this space.
