Manchester United have largely underwhelmed this season under Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils have endured a miserable season in the Premier League and their hopes of European football are fading fast. Speaking of Europe, Ten Hag’s side had an awful season in the Champions League after finishing bottom of their group.

That has seen the pressure crank up on the Dutchman, with Jim Ratcliffe reportedly considering replacing him. He could potentially save his job this weekend by reaching the FA Cup final against Coventry.

The Red Devils take on the Sky Blues at Wembley on Sunday. Ahead of that game, take a look at all of the news coming out of Old Trafford:

Sancho speaks out on Ten Hag blow

Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho could have shoved Erik ten Hag towards the sack. His temporary employers Borussia Dortmund reached the Champions League semi-finals with a dramatic victory against Atletico Madrid.

That has seen the German top division move towards an extra spot in the competition next season. Without that extra spot, the Red Devils’ hopes of a spot in the Champions League are now remote.

Sancho took to social media after Dortmund’s win. He said : “SEMI FINALS! Great fight from the team today!”

Barnes defends Ten Hag

While Ten Hag has come under increasing pressure following the Red Devils’ miserable form, ex -Liverpool star John Barnes does not believe he’s to blame. Giving his assessment of Man United’s season, he said: "Until the fans and the players start to respect who their manager is, then nothing is going to improve.

“The players need to take some responsibility for Manchester United's performances. I would never accuse a player of not trying or not trying to do their absolute best, but the question is, if Manchester United lose, who are the fans gong to boo?

“As long as the answer is the manager, then the players will absolve themselves of any responsibility subconsciously. I don't think that any player enters the field with the intention of not giving his best, but you know as a player that when things are going against you, you have to run harder, you have to win your duels, you have to try harder, and that is what you do."

Red Devils handed Maguire boost

With the FA Cup representing Man United’s only chance of silverware this season, the Red Devils have been handed a major boost at just the right time. Harry Maguire is set to be available against Coventry.

The defender was seen clutching his thigh against Bournemouth at the weekend. He was then absent from training images.

However, it is being reported that his absence was a precaution. And he should be okay to play against Coventry on Sunday.
