Sir Jim Ratcliffe will attend Manchester United's FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City after completing the London Marathon on Sunday.

Start waves for the Marathon will take place between 10am and 11.30am and United kick-off at Wembley at 3.30pm. The finishing line for the 26.2 mile run is on the Mall, 12 miles away from the national stadium.

Ratcliffe, 71, is a keen marathon runner and his Ineos group supported Eliud Kipchoge's successful challenge to run a marathon in under two hours in 2019.

United are aiming to reach their 24th FA Cup final, having made the final last year only to be beaten by City in the first all-Manchester final.

Ratcliffe is yet to be present for a United win since he agreed to a 27.7% stakeholding in the club on Christmas Eve. He was in attendance for the 2-2 draw with Tottenham in January, the dramatic 4-3 defeat at Chelsea and the recent 2-2 stalemate with Liverpool.

United co-chairman Joel Glazer has not attended a United game in five years. Fellow co-chairman Avram Glazer was at Wembley for the League Cup and FA Cup finals last season, as well as the opening weekend defeat to Brighton. Bryan Glazer and Edward Glazer also saw United lose 2-1 to City last June.

Ineos sporting director and United football board member Sir Dave Brailsford has attended the majority of their games since the Boxing Day comeback against Aston Villa.

United have won only one of their last five FA Cup finals and last lifted the trophy in 2016 following a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in extra-time.

City take on Chelsea in the first semi-final on Saturday.
