Erling Haaland has been warned that a potential move to Real Madrid would present problems with adapting to life in La Liga.

Haaland has continued to star for Manchester City this scoring, having won the Premier League's Golden Boot in his debut campaign. The Norwegian has an impressive record this term, scoring 31 goals in 39 games in all competitions.

He still has another three years to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium. But that has not stopped the 23-year-old superstar from being linked with a blockbuster move to Los Blancos.

It is an open secret that the La Liga leaders are interested in signing Haaland in the future. But Haaland's international team-mate Alexander Sorloth has warned him that such a move may cause issues.

Villarreal star Sorloth highlighted Zlatan Ibrahimovic's struggles at Barcelona in his warning. The Swedish icon spent a year at the Nou Camp and has since blasted then coach Pep Guardiola for the way he was deployed.

"I don't think there is that much difference between some leagues and others nowadays. I think that is a matter of the media, believe me, I have been in England, in Germany, in Spain... And it's really not as different as people say," Sorloth told Relevo.

"So of course Haaland would adapt to Spain. Also, when you are a great player like Haaland, you have to adapt to the team, but the team has to adapt to it. If you remember Ibrahimovic , when he came to Spain he tried to adapt to Barça, but Barça had to adapt to him in many aspects.

The story of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's time at Barcelona has been highlighted as an example of what Haaland could face

"With Haaland it would be like that, let's say he comes here to a team ... I'm not going to say the team (laughs). Yes , he would have to adapt, but the team he went to would have to adapt to him because his qualities mean that a team has to adapt to him."

While he has a goalscoring record that most would envy, Haaland has come under fire for his performances this season. He requested to be substituted against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.

And earlier this month, Manchester United legend Roy Keane launched a scathing attack on the Norweigan's general play. Keane extraordinarily branded Haaland a "League Two player" following the draw with Arsenal.

“The level of his general play is so poor – and not just today; his laying stuff off, headers or whatever it might be. In front of goal he’s the best in the world, but his general play for such a player – it is so poor," Keane told Sky Sports.

"Not just today. He has to improve that. He’s almost like a League Two player – that’s the way I look at him. His general play has to improve. It will do over the next few years. [He’s a] brilliant striker but he has to prove his overall game. Has to.”
