Erik ten Hag has clarified nothing has changed regarding Jadon Sancho's Manchester United future.

Sancho rejoined Borussia Dortmund on loan in January after he was exiled by Ten Hag for accusing the Dutchman of lying over his omission from the matchday squad against Arsenal in September.

The 24-year-old winger started in Dortmund's Champions League quarter-final victory over Atletico Madrid in midweek, which secured United a "significant" bonus. United will get another windfall if Dortmund reach the final.

Ten Hag clarified Sancho's ability is not the issue. "Of course, I follow international football and follow the players on loan at other clubs," Ten Hag confirmed.

"It was a fantastic game - Dortmund against Atletico Madrid. Great performance from Dortmund and for Jadon it's good news, he made his contribution to the result for Dortmund.

"No (nothing has changed about his future), but we know Jadon Sancho is a fantastic football player, so that is not a surprise for us. That is not the issue."

Casemiro scored in United's League Cup final victory at Wembley last season before starting at the national stadium in the FA Cup semi-final penalty shootout victory over Brighton and defeat to City in the final.

The 32-year-old's form has nosedived this season and Casemiro has been beset by hamstring problems. Despite scrutiny over his form, he is all but certain to start against Coventry City in the semi-final on Sunday and Ten Hag has backed the Brazilian to help United have a successful run-in.

"I think we needed the six when I arrived here and last season Casemiro was fantastic," Ten Hag enthused. "I don't think he ever scored so many goals as well but as a six, a holding midfielder, a strategist, he was so important for the team.

"This season, he struggled with a bad injury he never had in his career. But I know he is such a winner - see his career. All his career, he always won. Everywhere where he was there will be success and I trust he will give us also the success and I know he will need games, he will be better and I'm very confident about him.

"He is a fighter, that is why he also won big trophies, he's a big personality, he's a very important player and he will give us success.

"I think that game (against Newcastle in the League Cup final), not only that game, also how he achieved Champions League, he was such an important factor and that day he made a difference with his header and how we read and controlled the game."
