Manchester United supporters should have been hitting the pubs in celebration after seeing their side reach the FA Cup Final after victory over Coventry City - instead there was an anger to the manner of the victory, and plenty of sympathy for the Sky Blues.

Despite falling to Erik ten Haag's United side in a penalty shootout, it was the Sky Blues who captured the hearts of fans in pubs and homes across the nation.

They pushed the FA Cup semi-final into extra-time and penalties at Wembley Stadium, taking their supporters and the entire country on an unforgettable emotional rollercoaster that will be etched in memory for years to come.

City were on the back foot for the first hour, with goals from Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes seemingly sealing their doom. However, a spectacular goal from Ellis Simms and a deflected shot from Callum O'Hare narrowed the deficit before Haji Wright coolly converted a stoppage time penalty to level the match and force extra-time.

Victor Torp's potential late winner was agonisingly overruled by VAR, leading to a nail-biting penalty shootout which City sadly lost 4-2.
