Manchester United will be expected to beat Sheffield United tonight but Erik ten Hag has confirmed four key players could be struggling.

The Red Devils come off the back of a near-nightmare situation at Wembley last weekend.

Coventry City very nearly beat Man United in the semi-final of the FA Cup, with a tight VAR call and then a penalty shootout being the difference in the end.

For Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag, pressure continues to increase on him ahead of welcoming Chris Wilder and his team tonight.

And while the home side will be expected to see off the struggling Blades, Ten Hag has confirmed that a quartet of key players are not guaranteed to play at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have injury problems ahead of Sheffield United

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game with United, Ten Hag confirmed that two key men are likely to miss out completely, while another two are struggling with minor knocks.

“Yeah, so we had a problem with Garnacho, that’s why we took him off during the game but I think he will be fine,” Ten Hag said at his press conference on Tuesday. Scott McTominay, we have to assess today. That is really doubtful. Marcus Rashford is also doubtful and then there was an issue with Bruno Fernandes, with the hand. But I think he can make it,” Ten Hag said.

“So we have some doubts going into the game tomorrow.”

Sheffield United to capitalise on Ten Hag injury crisis?

Not that it will make much difference in terms of staying up, but Sheffield United will be looking to win at one of the biggest stadiums in Europe tonight.

Yes, the home side are the favourites and rightfully so.

But they do have a number of injury worries as mentioned here, while their defence has also been ravaged in recent weeks.

Chris Wilder will be keen to enforce this point to his team and make sure they know that there is a big chance of getting at Ten Hag’s side tonight.

United beat Man U before with goals from Kean Bryan and Oliver Burke. Taking that game as an example, then anything is possible.
