Dwight Yorke is calling on Manchester United to go all out in pursuit of Crystal Palace duo Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise this summer.

And the Old Trafford great believes Sir Jim Ratcliffe should waste no time in submitting an £80m bid to lure the pair from south London.

Yorke describes England international Eze and French team-mate Olise as having “some of the best potential I’ve ever seen” and feels United could be set for years to come if they built their team around both.

"Man United should go buy two Crystal Palace players right now, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, without a doubt,” Yorke told TVSportGuide. “Those two young boys are the players Man United need at the club right now.

"They're young, great talents and would improve the club. In two or three years time, they would be coming into the best part of their careers and they'd be integrated into the Man United side by then.

“Olise and Eze are proper players, they have some of the best potential I've ever seen. These two kids improve Man United's attack, without a shadow of a doubt. The deals should be done already, try chucking £80 million or something like that for both of them."

Landing both is likely to cost significantly more money, however. Olise signed a new contract last summer at Palace worth £100,000 a week. But it includes a release clause that comes into effect this summer which is likely to be north of £50m. Eze penned new terms in November, which will expire in the summer of 2027 and afford Palace room to dictate a higher fee.

Yorke, meanwhile, believes that if United are to ditch Erik ten Hag this summer former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane should be top of their wishlist.

He added: "I don't think Zinedine Zidane would dominate with Man United, but he'd get them back to where they should be in the league table. With Zidane coming to the club, it would generate belief in the club to win another league title. Zidane has proved what he can do at Real Madrid, he has all the star qualities to do it at Man United.

“You see names like Gareth Southgate being linked to Man United, but it's a different ball game when you manage a club of this size. You see what can unfold at that football club, and Zidane would be the one who can handle it and move the club forward.

“The rest of the managers would get eaten up alive, there is a lack of elite managers in the world at the moment."
