Manchester United emerged victorious against Sheffield United – but Gabby Agbonlahor is not convinced that this papers over the cracks.

The Red Devils didn’t half make it difficult for themselves. They went behind twice against the now-relegated side of Sheffield United.

But luckily, the club captain stepped up again. Bruno Fernandes put in an absolute masterclass of a performance – saving Erik ten Hag‘s bacon once again.

Former Premier League forward, Gabby Agbonlahor, believes that the Manchester United manager‘s bacon has been saved on time too many.

Gabby Agbonlahor reacts after Sheffield United fixture

Speaking the morning after in talkSPORT, Agbonlahor and Alan Brazil reflected on the Red Devils’ victory. Although, with what the former Aston Villa striker was spouting – you’d have believed they’d lost.

Alan Brazil: “Was there improvement there Gab? Can you see a resurgent United, particularly next year? Should they stay with Ten Hag or not?”

Gabby Agbonlahor: “No. Ten Hag has got to go. PE Teacher. Off you go mate. Not been good enough, last year winning a trophy, where is the progress? Where is the improvement? Where’s the next step? No Champions League this season, it’s a step backwards.”

Alan Brazil: “What if they were to beat Manchester City in the cup final?

Gabby Agbonlahor: “It doesn’t matter Al. In a final in a one-off game, that can happen. You know, they just got over the line against Coventry. For me, they need a total reset. Get rid of some of these players. Sell Rashford, because Mbappe will be leaving PSG to go to Real Madrid.

“So it’s the perfect fit for him to go PSG. Get some big money for Rashford and start buying some more players with a manager who you see a future with. I don’t see Manchester United next season breaking into the top four. It’s embarrassing.”

What to do with Erik ten Hag and Marcus Rashford?

Agbonlahor, known for his controversial takes, didn’t hold back on the Manchester United pair.

There has been doubt cast over the Dutchman’s future for some time now, with a plethora of managers linked to the Red Devils’ job.

As for Marcus Rashford. He’s been nowhere near his best. But would PSG even go for him? We aren’t so sure.

We’re still undecided, on both parties, but we guess all will be revealed come the summer.
