Marcus Rashford has still not regained fitness to take the field for Manchester United against Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Manchester United will look to build on the midweek win over Sheffield United when they host Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon. And Erik ten Hag has greeted a positive update on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Mason Mount has regained fitness after struggling with a muscle injury in the last two weeks. However, Marcus Rashford is yet to resume training and is still on the sidelines ahead of the game against Burnley.

The Englishman accompanies Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Jonny Evans, Will Kambwala, and Anthony Martial remain on the sidelines. Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag provided a brief fitness update on his squad during his pre-match press conference.

The Manchester United manager said, “It’s the same squad but Mason Mount, he will return to the squad. Yes, I think so [Shaw, Martinez, Martial will return next month]. I think we are all going to see them [again] in this season. They returned, all three onto the pitch. Next week, they have to make a step into team training and we think they can be available for the last weeks [of the season]. They are progressing well.”

With Rashford still unavailable, Alejandro Garnacho will retain his spot on the left flank, with Rasmus Hojlund leading the line for the home side against Burnley. Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes will reprise his usual no. 10 role. However, the offensive unit should see a change, with Amad Diallo making a rare start from the right flank.

As for the midfield department, Scott McTominay should replace Christian Eriksen as Kobbie Mainoo’s partner in the double pivot. Meanwhile, Casemiro will continue as a makeshift centre-back, lining up alongside Harry Maguire at the heart of the Manchester United defence. Finally, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot will complete the numbers in the backline, with Andre Onana retaining his spot between the sticks.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Maguire, Dalot; Mainoo, McTominay; Amad, Bruno Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund
