If you have been following the transfer rumors surrounding Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich, you already know that FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal FC, Liverpool FC, and Paris Saint-Germain are all eager to bring in the 29-year-old central midfielder / right back-back.

Now, Chelsea FC wants to throw its hat into the ring for Kimmich as well:

Chelsea have joined the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich at the end of the season.

If Ralf Rangnick is hired at Bayern Munich, that could help the club retain Kimmich, but the Germany international seems more likely than eer to at least kick the tires on what offers might be out there for him.

At Manchester City, Kimmich could slide into the lineup for Pep Guardiola and play a key role for a team that will be expected to be the favorite to win the Champions League for the 2024/25 season.

Where Moose would fit at City (Manchester Evening News)

If Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala moves to Manchester City, the Manchester Evening News broke down how he might be used:

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Pep Guardiola is looking at Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala.

However, The Guardian says City’s interest continues to advance and they are apparently ‘front of the queue’ for Musiala should he decide to leave Bayern. His arrival may cause a game time headache for several teammates. Here is how City could line up with Musiala in midfield and attack, should he join.

Option 1

Midfielders: Rodri; Foden, De Bruyne

Forwards: Bernardo, Haaland, Musiala

Perhaps the most likely scenario initially sees Musiala pushed out to the left. He has played there 10 times for Bayern this season and has reaped six goals and four assists from those outings, having otherwise tallied six goals and an assist in his more natural central role.

This allows Phil Foden to deservedly occupy the No.10 position alongside Kevin De Bruyne. If we assume Bernardo stays, he would occupy the right. Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku would likely start ahead of Musiala in the position, but if the youngster had to play, this might be the scenario first seen.

Option 2

Midfielders: Rodri; De Bruyne, Musiala

Forwards: Bernardo, Haaland, Foden

This scenario would see Rodri acting as the main pivot with De Bruyne and Musiala an attacking duo. One of them, perhaps Musiala, would be tasked with being the bridge between Rodri and the attack with John Stones stepping up to midfield when in possession.

Obviously, this would mean Foden is relegated to the flank despite his epic form this season, forcing Grealish out of the team. Doku has the capability of replacing Bernardo on the right.

Option 3

Midfielders: Rodri; Foden, Musiala

Forwards: Bernardo, Haaland, Doku

This could be the line-up when De Bruyne is rested or perhaps when energy is needed more in midfield. This gives Foden licence to stay central and, if Musiala pushed forward, then Bernardo can tuck around to bulk up the centre of the park when needed.

In all, the arrival of Musiala would strike playing-time concern into many teammates, with Mateo Kovacic and Nunes both fearing for the number of starts they may be given. The likelihood is that Musiala would not just walk into the side, but when he earns his spot, Guardiola has a good headache

Bavarian Podcast Works: Weekend Warm-up Show Season 3, Episode 42 (Bavarian Football Works)

Bayern Munich fans...the future is now!

Or soon...or maybe a little later...but either way, the club does appear to be well on its way to hiring its next coach — Ralf Rangnick, a name that was not necessarily at the forefront of anyone’s mind just a few weeks ago.

With all of that going on, let’s get to it and discuss what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:

  • Rangnick to Bayern Munich...how are we feeling about that (if it goes down)?
  • It is still a little odd that Hansi Flick never made it into serious consideration.
  • Is there any truth to the rumors that Rangnick is a short-term solution until Jürgen Klopp (or maybe even Xabi Alonso) becomes available.
  • Should fans believe the Frenkie de Jong rumors this time around?
  • After the Eintracht Frankfurt game, it is time to switch quickly into “Real Madrid Mode.”

Stiller talks decision to leave Bayern (Sport Bild via @iMiaSanMia)

VfB Stuttgart Angelo Stiller recently spoke about why it was the right decision to leave Bayern Munich for Hoffenheim back in 2021.

“In hindsight, it was probably the right step. I’m now a Bundesliga regular starter. That speaks for itself. The first few months after the move, I thought a lot about it. It was a difficult phase, there were so many world-class players in my position. It was hard for me to gain a foothold. But I’m not angry at FC Bayern,” Stiller said.

Barca still wants Silva (Daily Star via 90Min.com)

FC Barcelona still wants Manchester City star Bernardo Silva:

In terms of midfielders Barcelona want to bring in, Bernardo Silva remains on their radar, but Real Madrid currently lead the race to sign him from Manchester City.

Like Bayern Munich, Paris Saint has been linked to FC Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong multiple times in recent years. However, do not expect PSG to go after the midfielder due to UEFA Financial Fair Play concerns:

Eberl details what Bayern will look for in future players (@Plettigoal via @iMiaSanMia)

Bayern Munich executive recently sat down with Sky Sport’s Florian Plettenberg and detailed what some of the traits are that he is seeking in new players for the club.

“In the future, we want to try to build a squad with the coach, with energy. People should enjoy it. But we know about the pressure to achieve results and succeed that we have here at FC Bayern,” said Eberl. “We know that we have to win titles. But with a squad that people identify with. That won’t be achieved in one summer. It will be a longer process. Then hopefully people will say: They recognized what we wanted: energy, dominance and the self-confidence and pride of being able to play for FC Bayern.”
