Manchester United can record back-to-back wins in the Premier League this weekend.

The pressure on Erik ten Hag increased after a collapse against Coventry in the FA Cup semi-final, but United still won that game and returned to league action with a victory.

Although Sheffield United twice took the lead at Old Trafford, they didn't look capable of seeing out a win and United fought back to secure three points.

Most fans have given up hope of qualifying for the Champions League, but the race is far from over and Saturday afternoon's fixture against Burnley is a must-win fixture.

So here are four things to look out for against Burnley at Old Trafford...

The inverted role for Dalot

Almost immediately after the first whistle against Sheffield United, Diogo Dalot came close to scoring with a long-range strike but Wes Foderingham made a wonderful save.

Dalot is capable from distance and scored from an almost identical position, albeit from the right and not the left, against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in October.

In the last few weeks, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been used at left-back but looked increasingly uncomfortable in that role and it was the correct decision to move him back into his natural position on Wednesday, which meant the more adaptable Dalot started at left-back.

Dalot delivered a competent performance on that side and it was noticeable he was playing an inverted full-back role, coming into midfield to create a numerical advantage.

That allowed United to push higher against a team who were playing a low block and it will be fascinating to see whether those instructions are given to Dalot again, as Burnley insist on playing from the back and will have more possession than the Reds' last opponents.

Dalot almost scored in midweek.

This fixture produces goals

United have scored exactly three goals in all four of their home victories against Burnley, which gives hope of another high-scoring clash after Wednesday's 4-2 win over Sheffield United.

Harry Maguire scored, Bruno Fernandes produced a brace and Rasmus Hojlund ended his barren run in midweek and the latter will be desperate to build on his goal.

Sheffield United have conceded the most goals (92) in the league and Burnley have allowed the third most (69). United should be able to create plenty of chances again and ideally, they would put this Claret side, who are set to be relegated, to the sword and win comfortably.

United have only won by a margin of three goals or more twice in the league this season - against Everton at Goodison Park and West Ham at Old Trafford.

Fernandes' purple patch

Fernandes has seven goals in his past six league appearances, scoring in each of his last four, and his performance earlier in the week wasn't bad for someone with a broken hand.

The midfielder dragged United over the line against Sheffield United and delivered a captain's performance. His output in the final third has improved over the last month or so and it's not been a surprise to see Fernandes step up when his team have needed him most.

Fernandes is still yet to miss a club game through injury in his career and when the MEN asked him about that record last month, he said: "I just have to be grateful for my father and my mum because they made me the right way, the strong way.

"They’ve been here for the last two games and they give me that extra energy, with my kids and my wife, they always take care of me. My wife does a great job at home to give me as much rest as I can.

"It’s difficult when you have two kids at home and they want to play. My youngest one wants to play football all the time, but I get my rest, my naps, everything I need, because she’s there to help me. Part of this record is my family.”

The reception for Kompany

Vincent Kompany spent 11 years with Manchester City and won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and two Community Shields during that time.

The defender played in many Manchester derbies during his time at the Etihad and his reception on the touchline from the Old Trafford faithful should be frosty, to say the least.

"Here’s to you Vincent Kompany, you’ll never win the treble and you know, woahhhh," was sung by United fans during his time as a player. Unfortunately, City have since won the treble, but some of their 'legends' like Kompany, Sergio Aguero and David Silva never got close to a Champions League.

Every silver lining must be taken as a United fan at this stage.
