Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford tipped to beat West Ham star Jarrod Bowen to Euro 2024

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford should be part of England’s Euro 2024 squad ahead of West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen, according to Jamie O’Hara.

The Hammers forward scored his 20th goal of the season in all competitions and his 16th of the Premier League campaign in the Irons’ 2-2 draw with Liverpool at the London Stadium on Saturday (27 April).

Alternatively, Rashford has only scored eight goals in 40 matches in all competitions this term, but Sky Sports pundit O’Hara believes the Manchester United winger should be in Gareth Southgate’s squad for this summer’s tournament.

Speaking on Sky Sports News (28 April) he said: “I’d take Rashford over Bowen. One because of his experience and because of his X-factor and star quality. Yes, he’s had a bad season but he’s also managed by Ten Hag.

“For me, Rashford has got the x-factor, he’s a star player he plays for Manchester United and he can produce something out of the ordinary that Jarrod Bowen can’t do. For me, Rashford is one of the best English talents we’ve ever produced.

“I’d take Rashford over Bowen, I would.”

Will West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen go to Euro 2024 with England ahead of Manchester United star Marcus Rashford?

It seems ridiculous to suggest that Bowen doesn’t deserve a place in the Euros squad this summer. Barring Ollie Watkins at Villa, the Irons forward has been one of the most in form Englishman in the Premier League.

While Rashford has flattered to deceive in a team that has been slammed week in and week out, Bowen has led a team that has overperformed in both Europe and the league for a number of seasons now.

If Southgate was to pick his squad on form alone, Bowen would be there. But the England manager isn’t known for his consistent squad selection. Hopefully, that will change this summer.

Should West Ham opt to part ways with David Moyes this summer, a more attack-minded manager may well even help Bowen reach another level. Regardless of what happens at club level, O’Hara’s take is absolutely ridiculous.
