Crystal Palace fear that Marc Guéhi is likely to leave this summer.
The England centre back has two years left on his contract with Palace and is expected to cost more than £55 million, which would eclipse the £50 million Palace earned from selling the right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to United in 2019.
United and Arsenal have scouted Guéhi, 23, who had knee surgery in February to try to ensure that he would be in contention to be named in England’s squad for the European Championship in Germany this summer.
United have prioritised bringing in a defender and a striker, and Guéhi is on a shortlist that also includes Max Kilman, the Wolverhampton Wanderers captain. Kilman is also a target for West Ham United.
