Manchester United have certainly let a lot of young talent go in the past couple of seasons.

Since Erik ten Hag has joined Manchester United, the Red Devils have seen a complete overhaul in regard to the first-team squad, and that include ridding of a lot of the academy lot that was never really going to make their marks at Old Trafford.

The likes of Charlie Savage, Teden Mengi, Zidane Iqbal and Axel Tuanzebe have all been moved on under the Dutchman’s regime.

Some have stagnated, whereas others have gone on to thrive in their careers. Ethan Galbraith is a good example of the latter.

Ethan Galbraith with a fine performance for Leyton Orient

In June 2023, Leyton Orient confirmed that Ethan Galbraith has signed for the O’s, penning a two-year deal at Brisbane Road.

This came after Manchester United let the youngster’s contract run down, meaning he left Carrington for free.

His first season away from the Red Devils permanently has gone swimmingly. However, he saved his finest performance for the last day of the season, as Orient took on Shrewsbury away from home.

Galbraith got a goal and an assist, which resulted in him being handed the man of the match award. The goal itself was an absolute stunner.

It was also his highest-rated performance on FOTMOB since leaving Manchester United. He had some terrific stats on the day.

Caps of a fine season for Ethan Galbraith

For an inaugural season officially at a new club, it was a great season for the former Manchester United academy star.

The 22-year-old played 45 times for the League One side, scoring four goals and obtaining two assists. -playing a grand total of 3111 minutes. Galbraith has also become a firm fan favourite, for his versatility in defence and midfield.

A fine campaign – and he’ll only go from strength to strength as he gets older.
