Dortmund to try for permanent Sancho move

Despite recent rumours suggesting Jadon Sancho might be open to returning to Manchester United if manager Erik ten Hag leaves the club, Borussia Dortmund are set to try and turn his loan into a permanent deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 24-year-old winger made his move from Dortmund to United in 2021 for a whopping €85 million fee, but following Ten Hag’s appointment, he annoyed the Dutch coach with a social media post in which he refuted his claim about his poor efforts in training. Sancho was shunned from the squad after three Premier League appearances at the start of the season, and he returned on a temporary basis to the Signal Iduna Park in January.

Unlike Ten Hag, Dortmund are obviously pleased with Sancho’s contribution, consisting, among other things, of three goals and two assists in 16 matches across all competitions.

The negotiations between the two clubs aren’t expected to be easy, but Dortmund will do their best to bring the player they had developed into a hot young prospect back.
