The three United stars deemed untouchable as Sir Jim Ratcliffe plots ruthless summer clearout

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is gearing up for his first-ever transfer window as Manchester United’s co-owner, and it’s set to be a significant one.

The Englishman’s minority stake was finally ratified by the Premier League following a tedious wait back in February, leaving him unable to interfere with the club’s winter business.

Therefore, this summer provides Ratcliffe with a major opportunity to make his mark on the Red Devils early on while getting off on the right foot with the Old Trafford faithful. He’d previously expressed his desire to restore the 20-time champions to their former glories and knock the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool off their perch, but words will do very little for supporters after the Glazers’ torrid reign.

As such, a ruthless summer clearout is expected in M16 when the window opens, with outgoings crucial to not only raising transfer funds but also giving United more room for manoeuvring around Financial Fair Play restrictions.

Scintillating trio safe from overhaul

The Telegraph suggests that almost every player could be deemed sellable should the right bids come in, however, young trio Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are considered untouchable.

Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial and Brandon Williams are set to leave for free when their contracts expire, while plenty of other Reds face uncertain futures.
