Man Utd and Scotland star Scott McTominay reveals extent of knee injury just weeks from Euro kick-off
Other national team stars have also picked up knocks ahead of the summer
SCOTT McTOMINAY has calmed the fears of Steve Clarke and Scotland fans - by revealing his knee injury is NOT as bad as first feared.
The Manchester United midfielder punched the turf in frustration after getting hurt in Saturday’s Premier League clash with Burnley - sparking concerns he could be a major doubt for this summer’s Euros finals.

But McTominay has tonight posted a message on his personal Instagram account insisting he’ll soon be back in action.
He said: “I slipped and fell awkwardly on my knee, similar to against Chelsea.
“Nothing serious, just hyperextension.
“But I was angry and upset that I thought that it was worse than it was.

“Hoping to be back on the pitch very soon to help the team as much as I can.”
McTominay looked in real distress after lasting 25 minutes as a substitute on Saturday.
Worried Steve Clarke and the anxious Tartan Army supporters were left fearful the midfielder would become the latest player to be ruled out of Germany.
He’s become a huge player for the national team, scoring seven goals in the qualification campaign, including two strikes against Spain at Hampden.

But McTominay has had it confirmed he not suffered a serious injury.
It’s likely the 27-year-old - named the Scottish Football Writers’ International Player of the Year - will be out of action for a few weeks.

But barring any significant setbacks with his treatment, the versatile utility man will return to the United side before the end of the season.
The news will come as a major relief to Clarke who has already lost Lewis Ferguson and Nathan Patterson.
Stuart Armstrong picked up an injury last week.
While Billy Gilmour, Aaron Hickey and Grant Hanley have played very little football in the last few months.
Celtic skipper Callum McGregor is also continuing to manage a calf problem.
McGregor's Hoops teammate James Forrest's two goals vs Dundee on Sunday asked the question about a potential return to the international setup.
Speaking after the 2-1 at Dens Park, he said:
“I’ve not got a holiday booked. You never book a holiday early in this game, it’s always last minute!
“If you ask any Scottish player, you’d want to be involved.
