Scott McTominay has moved to play down fears that a knee injury would prevent him from featuring for Scotland at the European Championship this summer.

The star midfielder suffered the issue in the closing stages of Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Burnley at Old Trafford last Saturday. McTominay — who had only come on as a 65th-minute substitute for Kobbie Mainoo — was in clear discomfort as he slapped the turf with his hand and had to be helped off the pitch by a physio before being replaced by Mason Mount.
