Manchester United are continuing to be linked with several potential new signings this summer.

Erik ten Hag is nearing the end of his second season in charge at Old Trafford and is looking to win his second trophy at the club. United are looking ahead to the FA Cup final against Manchester City later this month, while also continuing to compete in the Premier League.

Despite the transfer window being yet to officially open, rumours surrounding United are in full swing, with the latest gossip concerning two defenders who could move to Old Trafford this summer.

Bayer Leverkusen chief executive Fernando Carro has admitted that Jonathan Tah could leave the club this summer. United have previously been linked with a move for Tah, while Chelsea and Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest in the past.

Now Carro has explained that Leverkusen would like to keep Tah at the club, and are looking at extending the defender's contract. However, the Leverkusen CEO has admitted that a move for Tah to a club outside the Bundesliga is also possible.

"We want to extend his [Tah] contract. We are a club that will not give players away for free," Carro told Sky Sports.

"That means that we have to extend his contract, otherwise we will sell him. We have spoken to Jonathan, we value him very much. He knows that the club and all of us want to keep him in Leverkusen. He knows that.

"But we also respect his wish. We will see whether he stays with us in the end or goes somewhere else. We hope he stays.

"If I try to put myself in Jonathan's position, it might be more interesting for him if he wants to move or would end up moving, perhaps not to move within Germany. Maybe it is more interesting to move abroad."

Elsewhere, United are also reportedly interested in signing Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo. According to Caught Offside, the Reds are one of several clubs who are considering making a move for the centre-back this summer.

Adarabioyo's contract at Fulham is set to expire at the end of the season, and there has been intense speculation about the possibility of an extension. However, the report claims that the defender is increasingly likely to leave Craven Cottage as a free agent when his deal expires.

Newcastle, West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest in signing Adarabioyo. The report adds that Spurs and West Ham may have the advantage over United in signing the defender due to showing the "most concrete interest" in getting a deal over the line.
