Manchester United travel to face Crystal Palace on Monday night.

The Red Devils have endured an underwhelming season so far but will hope to move a step closer to securing European qualification for next term with victory over the Eagles.

Palace, though, have been in fine form of late and will undoubtedly provide a stern test for Erik ten Hag’s side.

In the meantime, it appears that a former Chelsea manager is hoping to replace Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

According to Football Insider, Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel has told friends that he is ‘very keen’ to take the job in Manchester.

Ten Hag’s future has been the subject of intense speculation since the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS at the club earlier this month, with it being rumoured that the Dutchman could be dismissed this summer.

Tuchel won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021

Tuchel, who saw his side draw 2-2 against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday, is set to depart the German giants this summer and will therefore be available.

The German guided Bayern to the Bundesliga title last season after a dramatic final day win, but he failed to retain the title this term as Bayer Leverkusen have cruised to victory.

Tuchel guided Chelsea to the Champions League in 2021, and also won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup during his time in West London before being sacked in 2022.

It is claimed that both he and current Brighton and Hove Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi are among the top contenders to replace Ten Hag if he does depart Old Trafford, and Tuchel himself believes that winning the Champions League this term could swing it in his favour.
