Manchester United have spent big money trying to figure out the right-wing position and may be ready to spend once again.

United fans have seen some quality right wingers in the Premier League era, even if you just go for David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Antonio Valencia and Nani had their spells down the right flank too but that area has been a little more problematic in recent times.

Daniel James had his moments but was’t good at the level United needed whilst Jadon Sancho failed to live up to his huge price tag.

The same goes for Antony, who was hand-picked by Erik ten Hag but has struggled in a United shirt.

That may force United to go back into the market for yet another signing on the right flank, even with Alejandro Garnacho showing promise in that role.

Garnacho’s future may be as a left winger, so United seem willing to invest in another talent on the right side.

Manchester United want Michael Olise

One of the most popular names on the rumour mill is Crystal Palace star Michael Olise.

Previous reports have suggested that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos want to prioritise signing homegrown players.

Olise may play for the French national team but he counts as a homegrown player, hailing from Hammersmith whilst being a Reading academy graduate.

That makes Olise very appealing and ESPN claim that United are ‘leading the race’ to sign Olise.

It’s stated that United are ‘frontrunners’ for Olise despite interest from a host of other clubs.

Olise will allegedly cost around £50million to £60million thanks to a release clause in his contract.

The report adds that United are undeterred in the pursuit of Olise despite not being able to offer him Champions League action.

The top four has long gone for United but there is a belief that Olise can still be lured to Old Trafford despite being unable to play in Europe’s top club competition.

Olise is a boyhood United fan

United’s confidence may be down to Olise’s love for the club.

Football London noted in January that Olise has always been an ‘avid’ United fan and that could tempt him to Old Trafford.

Olise’s next move will be a big one having proven himself as a top talent with Palace.

The 22-year-old has racked up seven goals and four assists in just 16 games this season.

Olise’s injury woes may be a concern but the talent is undeniable with teammate Joel Ward branding him a ‘special talent’.

Olise may feel that a move to his boyhood club is just too good to turn down and that he can finally be United’s long-term solution down the right flank after years of searching and spending.
