Daily Schmankerl: Bayern Munich keeping an eye on Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva; Bayern to pursue Erik ten Hag; Manchester United, Bayern battling over Adrien Rabiot; Marco Reus to walk away from Borussia Dortmund; & MORE!

It’s match day! Bayern Munich visits VfB Stuttgart!

Nottingham Forest v Manchester City - Premier League

Bayern kicking tires on Silva? (PSG Talk)

This seems absurd, but here we go — Bayern Munich reportedly has interest in Manchester City attacker Bernardo Silva:

Manchester City veteran Bernardo Silva seems poised to part ways with the Premier League side. In recent days, the Portuguese veteran has been linked with moves to Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, but there’s now a new challenger.

A recent report from Spain suggests that Silva is looking forward to joining Barcelona this summer. The report also indicates that the 2023 UEFA Champions League winner believes his time at Manchester City is over and that he has a release clause of €58 million.

However, Barcelona and PSG now reportedly face another competitor to land the veteran playmaker. Catalunya Ràdio reports (h/t Diario AS) that Bayern Munich are also keen on Silva.

It will be intriguing to see how this affects Silva’s competition. Additionally, reports indicate that Manchester City would rather see the midfielder join a team other than PSG, given the tense relations between Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

Nonetheless, if Bayern Munich are now in the race, the Premier League club might want to send the 2023 UEFA Champions League winner to Germany instead of sending him to the French capital.

Bayern to pursue Ten Hag? (Sports Joe)

With Ralf Rangnick unexpectedly backing out of the race to become Bayern Munich’s next coach, the club could be looking at a familiar face in Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag:

Bayern Munich are reportedly discussing the prospect of making an approach for Erik ten Hag. The Bundesliga outfit are looking for someone to replace Thomas Tuchel, who will depart at the end of the season.

Earlier this week it had appeared that Ralf Rangnick would be the chosen replacement before he made a U-turn on his decision and stay on as Austria’s national team head coach. Now, according to German outlet Bild, Ten Hag is the next name to be discussed among the Bayern hierarchy.

Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show: VfB Stuttgart vs. Bayern Munich (Bavarian Football Works)

After the enthralling Champions League battle vs. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich must now rebound to face a very good VfB Stuttgart side in the Bundesliga.

The Bavarians will want to remain hot with their play and — ironically — it will be one of their own players, Alexander Nübel, trying to stand in the way of Bayern Munich’s efforts to maintain momentum.

Will Nübel pull a Josip Stanišić? Hopefully not. Here is what we have on tap for episode of the Bavarians Podcast Works — Preview Show:

  • Where Bayern Munich stands after the draw with Real Madrid.
  • A look at the recent league form of both clubs.
  • Updates on injured Bayern Munich players.
  • A guess at Thomas Tuchel’s potential starting XI.
  • A prediction on the match.

United, Bayern again linked to Rabiot (TeamTalk)

Manchester United and Bayern Munich are both — once again — linked to Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot:

Manchester United have rekindled their interest in a Juventus star, although the Red Devils face fierce competition from Bayern Munich to land his signature.

With a big rebuilding job on the horizon at Old Trafford, it’s gearing up to be a busy upcoming transfer window. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is keen to overhaul several positions and a number of key targets have already been identified.

Barca’s instability a deterrent to Kimmich? (Barca Universal)

Per one report, one detriment to a potential move to FC Barcelona for Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich is the club’s financial instability:

According to the reliable journalist Toni Juanmarti Barça believes Kimmich might decide to extend this summer because the team can not afford to make a competitive offer right now.

Sporting director Deco and Xavi reportedly reached a consensus over the arrival of Kimmich, with the pair deeming him a suitable fit for the defensive midfield role.

But as financial challenges loom large, Barcelona are forced to tread more carefully, which may lead Kimmich to commit his future to Bayern Munich.

Without Barcelona being unable to offer any assurance, Kimmich is more likely to choose stability at Bayern Munich, making the prospect of a renewal with the Bavarians increasingly probable.

Bavarian Podcast Works: Weekend Warm-up Show Season 3, Episode 43 (Bavarian Football Works)

Yeah, so there is a little bit to talk about with Bayern Munich this week.

I don’t even know we would waste any time with an intro when there is a three-ring circus going on with Bayern Munich’s coaching search, so let’s get right down to business. Here is what we have on tap on for the latest edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:

  • After the rejections from Rangnick, Xabi Alonso, and Julian Nagelsmann have all said “No” to Bayern Munich, is Hansi Flick the “break glass in case of emergency option.”
  • Sebastian Hoeneß has already stiff-armed speculation that he would be a fit, but could it happen?
  • Jonathan Tah to Bayern...eh, I don’t know about this one.
  • What to watch for in the next round of Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid in the Champions League.
