Thomas Tuchel has hinted he could remain in charge of Bayern Munich beyond the end of the season after declaring that "everything is possible".

It was announced back in February that Tuchel was set to leave the club this summer following a disappointing Bundesliga campaign that saw Bayern miss out on the title to Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen.

However, they remain in with a chance of winning the Champions League after drawing the first leg of their semi-final clash against Real Madrid 2-2 and that has led to suggestions Tuchel should be kept on as manager.

Bayern's top target Alonso has decided to remain at Leverkusen, while Austria manager Ralf Rangnick announced this week that he had turned down the chance to replace Tuchel. And with Barcelona boss Xavi completing a similar U-turn last month, Tuchel has refused to rule out doing the same.

When asked if there was a possibility he could stay on, Tuchel told reporters: "This is an agreement, so this can't be changed. Well, you can change every contract by mutual consent because we had a contract as well and then we agreed on ending it early, so everything is possible.

"But the answer is the same: the agreement stands and the agreement exists." Tuchel has also been linked with a potential return to the Premier League, having previously spent 20 months in charge of Chelsea.

Tuchel is said to be on Manchester United's radar as new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe weighs up whether or not to stick with Erik ten Hag following a poor campaign. However, according to a report from the Times, United do have one major concern about appointing Tuchel.

The report claims that his history of clashing with club chiefs is a potential sticking point and it remains to be seen what the future holds for Tuchel. Ten Hag, however, remains confident he will still be in charge of United net season.

"I'm here, I'm under contract for three seasons, so I don't care," he said earlier this year. "I am in this process, I'm only focusing on the process, so I don't care what's going on around me. I have had many talks with Sir Jim Radcliffe, also with Sir Dave Brailsford and others in that group.

"So I know where we are talking about and I have a strong belief and I feel that they believe in me. But I'm not focusing about my personal circumstances. I'm just focusing on the team and I have to find solutions for this team so that they perform the best way they can."
