Erling Haaland has dismissed Roy Keane's criticism with a sharp 13-word response.

The Manchester City striker laughed off the United legend's comments, stating he doesn't pay much attention to what 'that man' says. Keane, who had a notorious feud with Erling's father, Alfie Haaland, recently compared Haaland Jr's build-up play to that of a League Two player.

Haaland responded on the pitch, scoring four against Wolves to take his Premier League tally to 25 and his total for the season to 36 - an impressive feat considering he's missed two months due to injury. His goals have kept City on track for back-to-back doubles and all but secured him a second consecutive Golden Boot.

Speaking after the game, Haaland told Norwegian broadcaster Viaplay: "I don't really care that much about that man, so that's all right," when asked to comment on Keane's jibe, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The 23-year-old fired City into the lead from the penalty spot after just 12 minutes, and added a second after the half-hour-mark with a towering header at the back post.

He then completed his hattrick before half time with another strike from the penalty spot. Wolves then pulled a goal back through Hwang Hee-Chan after the restart, but Haaland immediately restored City's three-goal cushion with a gorgeous effort from outside the box, saving the best 'till last.

Julian Alvarez then completed the rout with five minutes to move Pep Guardiola's men back to within a point of table-toppers Arsenal, who beat Bournemouth 3-0 earlier in the day.

Back in March, after Haaland's stinker in City's 0-0 draw with Gunners, Keane said: "The level of his general play is so poor. And not just today. In terms of in front of goal he's best in the world, but his general play for such a player is so poor.

"He has to improve that. He's almost like a League Two player. That’s how I look at him. "His general play has to improve, and it will do over the next few years. He’s been this brilliant striker, he’s fantastic, but he has to improve his all round game, he has to."
