Former Manchester United star Paul Pogba has reportedly turned to acting while serving a four-year ban for doping.

The midfielder was hit with the ban back in February, having tested positive for a banned substance following a game for Juventus last August. Pogba has appealed the ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport and maintains he did not intentionally take the substance.

However, while waiting for his appeal to be heard ESPN are reporting that Pogba has dipped his toe into the world of acting. The footballer is said to have been filming scenes for a French film called 4 Zéros in Paris this week.

The movie is a sequel to 3 Zéros, which came out in 2002, and is slated to be released in April next year. French outlet Le Parisien state that Pogba plays a youth football coach and cite a source who claims he "amazed everyone" on set.

Should Pogba be unsuccessful in his attempt to appeal his doping ban, he will not be able to return to football until 2027. He has also vowed to tell his side of the story when he is "free of legal restrictions".

In a statement released after the ban was announced, Pogba said: " I have today been informed of the Tribunale Nazionale Antidoping's decision and believe that the verdict is incorrect.

"I am sad, shocked and heartbroken that everything I have built in my professional playing career has been taken away from me. When I am free of legal restrictions the full story will become clear, but I have never knowingly or deliberately taken any supplements that violate anti-doping regulations.

"As a professional athlete I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and have never disrespected or cheated fellow athletes and supporters of any of the teams I have played for, or against."

Pogba returned to Juventus in 2022 on a free transfer following his second spell at Old Trafford, with the midfielder helping United win the Europa League and League Cup. He is also a World Cup winner with France, having starred in their 2018 triumph.
