Mikel Arteta sends message to Arsenal players ahead of Manchester United clash

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said his side will have to be at their ‘best’ when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Spanish coach appears to be forgetting that United are caught in a terrible run of form, after losing 4-0 to Crystal Palace on Monday night. The Reds are also trying to deal with an injury crisis, with Mason Mount joining to the absentee list this weekend.

Title-chasing Arsenal will make the trip north to Old Trafford looking to recored a fifth successive Premier League win. However, Old Trafford has not been the happiest of stadiums for them in the past and they’re looking to do the double over us.

Arteta is challenging his players to overcome that particular hoodoo.

Speaking to reporters this afternoon, Ten Hag said (via Manchester Evening News): “Every game has a different context. We know the difficulty and the history when you look at what we’ve done over there, so we’re going to have to be at our best to earn the right to win the game. The difficulty there is the quality of the opposition, the quality of the individuals and the manager. It brings a lot of challenges but we’ve been in very difficult stadiums this season and done very well so hopefully we can do the same on Sunday.”
