Manchester United are locked in negotiations with Real Betis over a potential second loan agreement for Antony, according to reports. The La Liga giants are desperate to retain the resurgent winger's services next season but could struggle to conjure up the financials required to sign him permanently.

Antony left for Seville in the January transfer window after falling out of favour under Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim. The loan has been one of the most beneficial in United's history, making the 25-year-old's stocks soar from the depths of his mediocrity in England. Antony has plundered eight goals and five assists in 21 appearances for Betis, inspiring a strong second half of the campaign.

His involvement has fuelled a challenge for Champions League football next season, with Betis just three points behind fifth-place Villarreal.

Antony has also helped fire Manuel Pellegrini's side into the Conference League final, where United's rivals Chelsea await on May 28.

The Brazil international looks a different player from the £86million flop who managed just 12 goals and five assists in 96 games at Old Trafford.

According to CaughtOffside, Betis have accelerated their efforts to seal Antony's signature for the 2025/26 season.

The former United No. 21 is said to be keen on the two clubs reaching an agreement so he can continue thriving at the Benito Villamarin Stadium.

Betis are eyeing another loan deal due to financial restrictions that are hampering their wish to sign him permanently.

The report adds that United have lowered their asking price to between £25m and £29m, which should spark interest if Antony doesn't stay in Seville.

But Betis are pushing to keep him in their ranks, and it's claimed they are preparing a loan offer that would include a fee and contributions towards his salary.

United would prefer to cash in on Antony this summer, despite having to swallow a painful loss from the mindblowing investment sanctioned by Ten Hag in 2022.

Amorim needs as many funds as possible as he leads a desperately needed squad overhaul, which is expected to focus on his toothless attack.

Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho should join Antony out the exit door, while Rasmus Hojlund's future at Old Trafford is far from guaranteed after a hugely underwhelming second season.

United have reportedly made Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap and Wolves forward Matheus Cunha their two top targets ahead of the summer.
