Erik ten Hag’s advisors are furious that shambolic Manchester United have let the Dutchman down badly in the transfer market.

And his agents have been left disappointed that the 52-year-old coach has been hung out to dry after being landed with a shambolic window and the Cristiano Ronaldo circus.

It’s emerged Ten Hag’s unhappy with the way United have conducted their summer business with Stuttgart’s Austrian striker Sasa Kalajdzic the latest name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford. The powerful 25-year old six feet six inch attacker has scored 24 goals and provided ten assists in his 55 games for the Bundesliga side

But Kalajdzic is understood to be way down the list of names of players they originally targeted. And the chaos has left Ten Hag’s camp fuming. After early talks following his decision to leave Ajax and join United, the Dutchman was promised the club would bring in five new players this summer.

That was to re-boost the squad after the departures of internationals Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic and Jesse Lingard as well as back-up goalkeeper Lee Grant.

That shed over £1million A WEEK in wages and was meant to free up space for at least one big-hitter with Barcelona midfield play-maker Frenkie de Jong Ten Hag’s main target. Ten Hag is believed to have handed United’s under-fire director of football John Murtagh his wish-list but so far United have only managed to get three deals over the line.

The arrivals of young left-back Tyrell Malacia, Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez and free agent Christian Eriksen has been seriously under-whelming compared to top five rivals Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal.

The farcical De Jong saga - continuing to chase a player who won’t leave until he’s paid the £17 million owed by the Spaniards in deferred wages - has left United scrambling around for new faces with the window closing in 19 days.

Their pursuit of 33-year-old former West Ham and Stoke striker Marko Arnautovic made them a laughing stock while they continue to push to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, another player with a chequered history. And with Liverpool up next for United at Old Trafford Ten Hag is hoping the club can rescue a window that could prove one of their worst in recent history.
