Erik ten Hag is reportedly furious with how Manchester United have conducted their summer transfer business.

It has been a disastrous start to the Dutchman's helm at the club both on and off the field. They are bottom of the Premier League after losing their first two matches of the season, while Ten Hag has struggled to bring in the players he wants.

The Mirror have reported that Ten Hag and his advisors are furious with how he has been let down in the transfer market, as well as the saga surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo's future at the club, which has proved an unwelcome distraction.

United have been able to sign full-back Tyrell Malacia, midfielder Christian Eriksen and centre-back Lisandro Martinez, but the club have struggled to land other targets.

Barcelona midfield playmaker Frenkie de Jong has been their main target this summer, though they could be set to miss out on the Dutcg international to Premier League rivals Chelsea.

It is believed that Ten Hag was promised that the club would bring in five new players this summer but they are running out of time before the transfer window shuts on September 1.

The saga surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Old Trafford has been an unwelcome distraction

United have now been linked with Stuttgart's Austrian striker Sasa Kalajdzic, although he is way down Ten Hag's list of targets, according to The Mirror.

The 25-year-old has scored 24 goals and provided 10 assists in his 55 games for the German side.

Ronaldo's future at the club has been a distraction after he expressed his desire to leave earlier this summer.

The Portuguese superstar wanted to depart Old Trafford after they failed to qualify for the Champions League but he is likely to stay, with a lack of viable clubs who can - or want - to sign him.

Ronaldo made his first start of the season on Saturday against Brentford after missing the majority of pre-season.

United have been linked with Sasa Kalajdzic of Stuttgart - though he is low down Ten Hag's list of targets

United produced a woeful display as they were comfortably thrashed 4-0 by Brentford, leaving them bottom of the table for the first time since 1992.

Other players United have been linked to have not been warmed to by fans.

A move for Bologna's Marko Arnautovic was put to an end by fan backlash, while fans have also expressed concerns over signing Adrien Rabiot from Juventus.

United are hoping to seal a £15m deal for Rabiot but the move which has stalled over salary negotiations.

United's season could get worse before it gets any better as they next play Liverpool at Old Trafford on August 22.

Frustration over the club's lack of signings has led to more fan backlash against the Glazers, with more protests expected against the American owners before they play Jurgen Klopp's side.
