Manchester United remain keen to sign Liam Delap this summer, and now further details around the player have been revealed.
The season has only been over two days, yet already, Manchester United are right in the thick of transfer season.
Matheus Cunha’s arrival at Old Trafford is imminent and expected to be completed this week, before the player heads off on the international break in June.
However, Ineos is unlikely to be done here, with further attacking targets currently being considered in order to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s side.
This has resulted in Brentford’s brilliant forward Bryan Mbeumo emerging as a target for United. Adding Mbeumo to Cunha would be an additional 35 Premier League goals based on their 2024-25 returns, which might instantly prove transformational.
It would be an excellent start, but a striker is still high on the priority list.

What Manchester United have offered Liam Delap this summer
There has been concern over the past 24 hours that a striker may prove tough to obtain for United this summer. This comes with the revelation that Viktor Gyokeres is not on the table for United, while there has also been negativity around Liam Delap.
However, speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has spoken about the Ipswich striker and the latest situation ahead of his £30m transfer.
“Both Chelsea and United have had direct meetings with the player, Everton have done the same, and Newcastle have approached his agents. So all these clubs are in the mix, and the meetings are for Delap to understand the project and vision.
“The player is now assessing all these options.”
Romano then revealed the main selling points the three favoured parties are using to convince the 22-year-old.
“Everton are preparing a big financial package where the player can leave in two or three years.
“Chelsea can offer Champions League football.
“Manchester United can offer to be a key player in the rebuild with Cunha.”
The three offers on the table are surely exciting for Delap, but there should be no debate over United winning the race.
Why Delap would be crazy to reject Manchester United move
Delap has three attractive proposals, which are tempting for different reasons.
For Chelsea, the offer of Champions League football will hold a lot of sway. But Delap will know he is not guaranteed minutes with the Blues, who are already planning to sign Emanuel Emegha next year with a pre-agreement.
Delap might not even start over Nicolas Jackson, whether at United, he has the chance to be a key figure in the team, which is being rebuilt and looks set to become far better next season. Amorim has already promised big things, and Delap could be a part of this.
Everton’s offer will allow Delap to grow into an elite striker with relatively little pressure, similar to Romelu Lukaku, before then making the big move in due course.
All three are good options for Delap, but at United, he will get to be a starter at a huge club, which will soon be on the rise again.
