Man Utd transfer news: Ruben Amorim eyes shock Prem move as reject wants £50m switch

Ruben Amorim has completed his first signing of the summer transfer window after Matheus Cunha's £62.5m move from Wolves was confirmed, but there is plenty of speculation surrounding key departures

The transfer window only opened over the weekend and Manchester United showed why they're going to be the club to keep an eye on.

Ruben Amorim's squad is expected to undergo significant changes as the Portuguese aims to turnaround the team's woeful season. Bruno Fernandes' name will be making headlines in the coming days as Al Hilal have given him a deadline to make a decision on a £100million move away from United. The Portuguese star's cryptic social media post didn't dampen those rumours.

Other departures are expected for the likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony, who both spent the second half of last season on loan. United will be keen to secure permanent transfers for the pair in a bid to raise funds. There are also incoming transfers to anticipate. Matheus Cunha has agreed to a deal to join the Red Devils, while potential replacements for Fernandes have already been suggested.

Here, the Daily Star Sport looks at the latest Man Utd transfer news.

Rashford setback

United's plans to offload Marcus Rashford this summer have suffered a setback, with Barcelona reportedly telling the Red Devils they're not willing to pay for the winger.

Rashford is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer following a loan spell at Aston Villa. Despite scoring four goals and providing five assists under Unai Emery, the 27 year old doesn't appear keen to stay in the Midlands, even though Villa have the option to sign him for £40m.

Rashford has his sights set on a move to Barcelona. However, according to German publication Bild, the Spanish club are reluctant to pay the £40m price tag. Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is keen on securing Rashford, but the club is only interested in a loan deal.

Garnacho priority

Alejandro Garnacho is eyeing a £50m switch to Chelsea this summer, despite interest from Napoli, according to reports. The 20 year old also seems destined to leave Old Trafford after being told to find a new club.

Garnacho was dropped to the bench by Amorim in the 1-0 Europa League final loss to Tottenham, before being omitted from the squad for the final game of the season against Aston Villa. Amorim reportedly told him: "You better pray that you can find a club to sign you".

Reports suggest that the Argentine international is keen to remain in England to make a world class name for himself. Chelsea showed interest in signing the winger in January, with his agents spotted at Stamford Bridge.

Following the signing of Matheus Cunha, United are reportedly considering another Premier League addition. The Red Devils are said to be keen on Brighton star Pervis Estupinan.

The club have reportedly made an enquiry about the defender, who is seen to boost the team's physicality. This is despite the fact that United only signed Patrick Dorgu in January and still have Luke Shaw available.

However, Amorim doesn't believe his current squad possesses enough speed or physical strength.
