Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United got back to winning ways after beating Omonia Nicosia 3-2 in the Europa League.

After trailing 1-0 at half-time in Cyprus, the Dutchman’s inspired substitutions ensured the Red Devils bounced back following the embarrassing Manchester derby defeat.

Two goals from Marcus Rashford and an Anthony Martial strike made it two wins out of three Europa League games in Group E.

Here are Manchester United’s three best players against Omonia Nicosia at the GSP Stadium.

Lisandro Martinez

Time and time again, it was the Argentine’s penetrative passes which broke the Omonia defensive lines and created an opportunity for us to create a chance.

The former Ajax man put on a passing clinic, and he’s rapidly looking a Rolls-Royce of a defender.

When teams sit back like Omonia did, having a player in Martinez’s ilk driving forward and having the bravery and quality to break the low block is priceless.

It was United’s number six pass into Rashford which resulted in Martial scoring our crucial second.

Christian Eriksen

The Danish playmaker is undeniably one of Ten Hag’s undroppables, and the former Brentford man put on yet another passing clinic and created five chances against Neil Lennon’s side.

Playing alongside five-time Champions League winner Casemiro, the classy duo controlled proceedings and their understanding of one and other’s games is only going to grow with every passing game played together.

Most Manchester United fans would like to see Ten Hag select the pair from the start for the first time in the Premier League against Everton on Sunday, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Scott McTominay come back in for the Brazilian.

Marcus Rashford

The England international is doing everything in his power to grab Gareth Southgate’s attention ahead of the Three Lions boss naming his World Cup squad.

Rashford’s brace off from the bench against Omonia was his fifth goal of the season, and he’s already equalled his measly total from a difficult 2021-22 campaign.

But United’s number 10 looks back to his best and linked up well with both Martial and Cristiano Ronaldo, which will no doubt please the former Ajax manager.

The 24-year-old scored two very different type of goals, his first was a beautiful curling finish into the far bottom corner, and his second was a poacher’s tap in.

On current form surely Rashford is assured of a spot on the plane to Qatar.
