Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has praised Marcus Rashford after the team’s 3-2 win over Omonia.
United looked like being in for ‘one of those nights’ after trailing 1-0 at half-time in a game the team had dominated.
Erik ten Hag took action and made substitutions, including sending on Marcus Rashford. It was an inspired decision.

Rashford scored two goals and provided one assist to send United into a 3-1 lead. Omonia grabbed a late consolation to tighten the scoreline.
Anthony Martial scored United’s other goal, after some well-tuned link up with Rashford, who so often seems to be on his wavelength.
Rashford and Martial have shown what they are capable of before, and it is good to see them re-discovering their form and doing so again.
De Gea’s message shows United’s players appreciate the contribution from United’s number 10, to help secure a well-timed win.

The second half was much better from United, with Rashford adding some urgency and zip to United’s play which was too slow and ponderous in the first half.
His goals get him and United back on track after a disappointing derby defeat, with this just the second time United have scored three or more goals in a match under Erik ten Hag.
