Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Arsenal in the Women's Super League was voted the Utilita Performance of the Week by the League Managers Association. Liverpool Women were the last female team to win the accolade for their season-opening 2-1 win over title defenders Chelsea in September this year.

The panel, consisting of football legends such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Rachel Yankey and Les Ferdinand handed manager Marc Skinner the award after their victorious performance over league rivals Arsenal at the Emirates stadium.

Ella Toone’s volley put United into the lead at half time but the Gunners replied a minute after the break and proceeded to take the lead with 17 minutes to go.

Captain Kaite Zelem produced the opportunities to take the lead with two perfectly-placed set pieces: Millie Turner headed home the equaliser followed by Alessia Russo’s nod which stole the lead in extra time; two goals in six minutes for the visitors.

The result gave Arsenal their first season loss, ending their unbeaten record that stretched back to April and rectifying United’s loss against Chelsea the week before.

Manchester United are now level with Arsenal at the top end of the table on 18 points but Chelsea are ahead of both clubs by three points having played one game more.

United clash with top five team Aston Villa at Old Trafford on December 3 kicking off at 12:30pm, followed by Everton and then Manchester City for the derby clash at the Etihad Stadium - three games in seven days for United in the lead-up to Christmas.
