Do Eriksen and Varane start?

|

After Poland’s 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia, the attention of the World Cup turns to the tantalising clash between Denmark and France at Stadium 974 in Doha.

This game should give Manchester United fans plenty of incentive to watch as two of their own are starting for their respective countries in this Group D clash, which will kick off at 4pm UK time.

In the red corner, Christian Eriksen starts for Denmark for a second game in a row and he will be pivotal to the Danes’ hopes of getting a result against a France side, who put in a brilliant display over Australia, winning 4-1 in their previous outing.

France will have to be wary of the threat of Eriksen because in Denmark’s 0-0 draw with Tunisia, the United creative midfielder, created five chances for his team-mates to score [SuperSport.com].

In the blue corner, Raphael Varane returns to the France starting XI, replacing Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate and it is the first game Varane has started in as he has not featured for United or France since his hamstring injury away to Chelsea, more than a month ago.

It is a welcome boost for France to have their key defender back as he brings a number of qualities that can help Didier Deschamp’s side, as they go searching for victory that will ensure their passage to the next round.

However, the game against Kasper Hjulmand’s side will not be easy because they have beaten France in their last two competitive matches in the UEFA Nations League.
