Manchester United are reportedly ready to cash in on out of favour forward Anthony Elanga this summer.

The MEN reports Manchester United would take as little as £10 million for Anthony Elanga.

It is claimed Elanga was initially being considered to be loaned out, but he has played so little this season that the club are willing to sell.

Elanga has not started a single Premier League game in 2023, and no game in any competition since January.

His last league appearance came in March, and with his minimal minutes, Elanga has not scored for Manchester United since February 2022.

Anthony Elanga could be sold

There is no place for Anthony Elanga at Manchester United right now. While he was a regular starter under Ralf Rangnick, he has been moved aside by Erik ten Hag.

This is despite a couple of promising displays early in the season at home to Liverpool and away at Leicester.

Elanga has been overtaken by Alejandro Garnacho, while Marcus Rashford‘s return to form has also minimised his minutes.

Antony being signed as a right winger has also seen Jadon Sancho moved to the left more often.

Even a goal for Sweden in the recent international break has not changed Elanga’s fortunes since his return. His last appearance came away at Sevilla as a late substitute.

Manchester United could have sent Elanga out on loan in the January transfer window and declined to do so, keeping him as back-up.

In hindsight, the club should have just sent the 21-year-old on loan. This could have even increased his value.

£10 million is a low fee, but Manchester United need to raise funds to boost the club’s transfer budget.

Cutting the cord with Elanga might be in his best interests too, to allow the young talent to move on, despite his potential.
