Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) were offered 30 per cent of a Premier League club — believed to be Manchester United — for £700million before buying Newcastle United, The Athletic reports.

However, the Glazers' offer was refused as they demanded that zero power was handed over as part of the deal with PIF instead opting for full ownership of Newcastle.
